Problems browsing websites

#1 Post by gonzman » Thu Aug 02, 2007 5:15 pm

Hello, first post here.

Recently got a 770E, whoch works real nice and is saving me from a work deadline--she's my baby now.

However, I can't seem to get to display website backgrounds when browsing the web, I only get a white background. I thought it was an IE thing, so I updated to IE 7, still nothing, I tried Mozilla Firefox, still nothing...

Anyone has any thought about how to fix this? Really makes me appreciate the simple things like colors in the back of a website.

Much thankful for any help.

G

What are using to connect to the internet? Modem, PC card network adapter, or wireless PC card?

This is just a guess, but check device manager to see which hard disk controller is being used. On my 770E Windows wants to install an Intel controller, but my wireless network card either won't work at all, or works very poorly that way. I have to edit the registry so that the "Standard Bus Mastering IDE Controller" is used, and Windows won't change it when I reboot. There is a patch on the Lenovo support site just for this purpose (you don't have to edit the registry yourself), but I don't remember which one it is. Maybe someone else can help you find it, if it turns out that is what you need.

Do you get net traffic at all, or is this just the background of websites that come out white with the content ok?

If you don't get net traffic, make sure your wireless router does not have a whitelist of mac addresses allowed on the network, and if it does, add your card to it.

By net traffic do you mean to be able to surf the web? I am able to surf any site, only thing is that backgrounds and some graphs don't come out--always a white background.

Where would I see if I have a whitelist, and how would I add my card to it?

Thanks A LOT for the help, and Spirit of X21 appreciate the welcome.
