Any of you own both TP600 and TP600X?

I have now two thinkpad 600-s and one thinkpad 600X.

Though 600X is better because of P3 processor - I simply like using the other two because my screen is a bit darker on 600X.

Would this be true for these units? or is it that my 600X screen is possibly defective?

you know i find it to be the other way around, my 600 was a little dim and my 600x is brighter, it could be the BAcklight on your 600x just getting old, they do dim as they get older.

For the TP600 line, there are 3 different types of displays:

--13.0 XGA HPA LCD (2645-21U, PII-233)
--12.1 SVGA TFT LCD (2645-31U & 2645-35U, PII-233)
--13.3 XGA TFT LCD (2645-xxx, all other TPs)

...and the HPA is definitely a unique to the -21U, I suspect the 12.1 in display is a unique to the two models, too.

So check the model number, and look it up on the Lenovo website to see what the manufacturer thinks you have... the smaller screen seems to my ancient eye to be a bit brighter.

So it might not be the backlight that makes the difference, altho that is most likely the situation if both screens are EXACTLY the same size.
