I run WIN 98Se on my 600x and like to use suspend mode
if I have files open and want to physically move the machine to different area without closing.saving etc.
Today when resuming from suspend (Fn + F4) I got a windows
box saying would you like to change your Advanced Power
settings to Disable/Turn-off Suspend Mode ?,
Foolishly I said Yes, and Now Fn +F4 Will Not Suspend my
computer, I've been to thinkpad Power Management settings but
cannot find relevant tab that would re-activate ?
Is this now a Win 98Se file issue ? that needs to be re-installed ?
Any suggestions on how to restore suspend function via
Fn+F4 would be greatly appreciated.
Note: I Do Not Use Hibernate Fn + F12, Ever, for absolute
fear of being lost in space.
thanks for any help you can offer.
cannot enter Suspend Mode Fn +F4
thanks for your suggestions, unfortunately
these setting options are not available on
my system properties I'm running Win 98SE
and have Not up-dated my Bios.
Do any other forum members have any suggestions
as to how I can restore the suspend mode Fn+F4 to
my trusty 600x ?
thanks again for your help.

I don't think those options are normally available in Win 98SE.spartacus wrote:these setting options are not available on

Don't know what that box or setting is.spartacus wrote:Today when resuming from suspend (Fn + F4) I got a windows box saying would you like to change your Advanced Power settings to Disable/Turn-off Suspend Mode ?
Can you suspend by using the Start Menu instead of Fn+F4?
Is it possible that something else is preventing you from suspending, for e.g., a PCMCIA modem/network card? Maybe the message about "Advanced Power" settings came from there and not from your operating system settings?
Is it possible that some kind of screen saver or something is preventing you from entering suspend mode?
Phil.
