Can A 600/E/X Use An LCD From A 770?

Older ThinkPads.. from the 600, the 7xx, the iSeries, 300, 500, the Transnote and, of course, the 701

Can A 600/E/X Use An LCD From A 770?

#1 Post by jamiphar » Wed Aug 15, 2007 9:36 am

Can the 13.3" screen on a 600/E/X be replaced by a 13.3" screen from a 770? My 600E has a crack on its screen, and I came across an inexpensive 770 screen when I was searching for a new one.

I tried researching the FRU numbers for the 13.3" LCD panels used on the 600 and 770's but I never was able to find any confirmation that they were interchangeable. From the pictures I have seen of both on the internet, I do not think they you can interchange them-sorry!

Although maybe someone can tell you otherwise...
I lost count...

Sorry but they can't. The cable connector on the 600's is lower left hand corner. The 770's is upper center. Don't think it would reach.

Sorry.

Thanks for the info. I'll be looking for a 600-specific screen then.
