Video out on 600X 2646-8EU?

#1 Post by ms5133 » Sat Aug 18, 2007 8:33 am

I'm toying with the idea of installing a video-out chip (10L1352)

I have two questions...The video-enabled models,2645-5FX/9FX, do not have the same MB as my model, but my hunch is that has
more to do with speed-step than peripheral MB devices. Would my MB support video out? Is it just a question of knocking out the
plug and screwing in the chip?

Second question concerns the video cable.

The 600X specs call for video cable 05K2821, but in browsing in the forum I came across a post that indicated that video cables
from the 760/770( 85G1897) series were basically identical to the 600X cable. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks

Yes, I use the 85G1897 cable with my 600Xes. I don't know about the 760, but these are the cables that work with the 770 series for sure. I think that the 600 series cables may not have the S-video out that the 770 cables have (?): i.e. the 770 video cables have a choice of RCA or S-Video, but the 600 video cables have only RCA...?

Thanks Phil..one down and one to go..I have several 85G1897 cables laying around from various 760ED projects.

Anyone on the MB issue?
