I have a TP 600 2645-35U that I upgraded th HHD to 10 gb and is running fine on Win 2000. I recently got from a friend a 333hz CPU out of a 600E. Is it possible to replace the 233hz CPU that is in mine with this one or not. I don’t want to open the case and try until I know if it will work.

THe original 600 series uses an MMC1 cpu while the 600e uses an MMC2 cpu. In other words: No, you can't use it because the connectors are different.
If you find an MMC1 cpu up to 400 mhz you can use it. I put a 366 mhz in mine and the difference is quite noticable.

Thank you for the quick response. I will look around and see if I can locate a MMC1 CPU.

there was a guy on eBay selling them in the US... they weren't cheap, around $70.00 i believe, but they were brand new. I bought one and I have no regrets. Make sure you get a processor with the cache on-die! The ones with cache on the pcb won't recognize right in the laptop. I have a 300mhz with on-pcb cache and it never worked right in my 770 (suspect it would behave the same in a 600).
