There is a BIOS menu which controls the device the system boots from and in what order. To access it, hold the F1 key down while the system is powered up. Continue holding the key until the Easy-Setup display appears. Use the trackpoint and mouse button or arrow and ENTER keys to select the "Start up" icon. Then select the "Power-on" icon. That should lead you to three-line display of device types. The top line, numbered 1 to 4, is the order in which devices are searched for an operating system. If you see a cylinder with a number "1" in the first position, that means that hard drive #1 is looked at first. If there is a picture of a disk, that's the CDROM/DVD drive. A floppy drive looks like a dark cross inside two rectangles. At the end of the top line is a "Reset" button. Pressing that button will clear the four entries and put the device icons in the lower two rows. You can then click on each device and put them in the order you want. When done, select the "OK" button, then the "Exit" button, to return to the main menu. There, press the "Restart" icon and confirm it with the "OK" button.

I just wanted to add that the trackpoint mouse will work in the BIOS and that is how you "click" on the items as Ray suggests above. When you move the trackpoint you will see the "bird" icon moving.

Further, if you just clear all the options, leaving them all blank, it will boot first from the floppy, then the CD, then the hard drive.

I didn't know that. You never know what you'll learn on these forums. Thanks for the tip.

I can confirm that. I learnt that "hard" way sometime back ... also, if you see the icons for floppy, CD, HDD they will say 1, 2, 3 in that order - which is the standard boot order.
