greetings,

i purchased 570e on ebay without HDD and its caddy.

i found one on ebay. here's the link

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWA:IT

is it indeed the correct part for 570e? the seller claims it fits the following models

Also is compatable with the following models: A20,A21,A21P,A22M,A22P,A30,A30P,A31,A31P,X20,X21 X22,X23,X24,X30,X31,380XD,385XD,380Z,560E,560X,560Z,570

but i wanted to make sure it does fit my 570e before making the purchase.

thanx for ur advice in advance!

Yes, the 570 series uses the same HD caddy as the 600 series.

The seller's extended compatibility listing is a bit over-reaching as in the A, T and X models it would be necessary to cut off the blue pull-tab in order to get the caddy in the machines.

Regards,

James

Yes, just as James said, it will fit. But if you received a TP570/e without hard drive and caddy, I really doubt that you also have the HDD cover. You'll need this one, too, in order to install the hard drive properly, the FRU P/N is 05K6072. Here are some ebay auctions for this, and with the attached photos, you can check whether you really have that piece already or not.

Btw, where are you from? The IBM online shop in the US doesn't list the part anymore, but in Germany, for instance, you can get it for as little as 3,63 Euros, P&P included.
