screen malfunction on 701cs

#1 Post by kazoo » Thu Sep 27, 2007 3:20 pm

When I start up my 701cs, I see the initial screen as always, which is black except for the byte counting in the upper LH corner. Then after that I would usually see the other startup stuff (BIOS info etc, then Windows 95 start screen). Then recently (the last several times I tried to start it), I see the initial screen, then nothing else. The computer acts like it's doing its usual stuff, making the typical noises, but the screen is black so I can't see anything -- it's like the screen is off somehow.

I've recently started using my 701cs again, letting my 4 yr old play games on it, and unfortunately I don't know what the last thing he did on it was. I tried messing with the contrast -- nothing. I would think my screen were dead if it weren't for the fact that I can see the initial startup screen.
