I am finishing up an i-Series for a friend, and for whatever reason the USB port is unresponsive. Is there an install file I am missing or something?

TIA

Having never even seen an i-series, I'll jump in and suggest you run ThinkPad Configuration and ensure the device is enabled. Try the same in the BIOS if needed too.

Good call with the BIOS... I missed it the first time through.

You need another feather!

Thanks!

I've been leary of buying an I Series since I found out they where made by Acer......

What's your observation so far?

Not mine to keep, but I like the speakers up on the sides of the screen. GREAT stereo separation.
It's older, "clunkier", and has a slower responding trackpointer then I'm used to. Adjustments are set to the most sensitive and fastest movement, but it seems slow and sluggish.

For someone wanting a unit made for W98 and wishing to play DVD's, or other media and basic e-mail stuff, this would be an OK unit if you max out the RAM.

It wasn't happy with XP with only 128MB RAM, but that's all I had onhand. It's owner has ordered RAM and will be installing it.

That's exactly what I was looking for, a good overall picture.

Thanks Joe!
