battery help

I need to know which IBM utility shows the cycles for the battery.
I cant seem to find the right one.

You've posted your question in the Thinkpad 770, 600/570 Forum. None of these machines have batteries that will report the number of cycles. Did you mean to ask about your X22?

No...I was asking about the 600E that I just got...I didnt know that they did not show that info for the battery....thanks for the heads up....BTW I no longer have the X22
...guess I need to update my info.

As pointed out, the 600 series uses "dumb" batteries in comarison to the T and up series.
The circuitry in the battery only regulates the 3 pairs of cells.
If I can collect a few "dead" 600 batteries, I would like to see if I can retrofit new circuitry into them. If nothing else, I would restuff them with new cells.

I have a dead 600 battery as well as a dead X22 battery..I might even have a another 600 and maybe a T series...if you want them you can have them for the shipping.

i don't trust that gag,i prefer to use mobile meter and check the current status of the updated run time + yes you could revive a 6 year old battery to show nearly 75% of its full rated capacity
after a few low drain discharge cycles,conversely i was never able to acheive this using any of ibms battery max programs+ in one instance reverted to an older bios (t 21 model) in order to allow the battery to snap out of its 5% rated level,which was not possible with ibms newest bios on them machines!
just be weary of companys profit techniques,and never discount
an unorthodox approach,if the few xtra bucks could be utilised where ought to be instead.
