365X battery question/problem

The real-time clock on my 365x (2625-3E9) no longer works (but it does work when running on the AC adapter). I know for a fact that my (main) battery is dead.

I went on the Kahlon site, and they show both a "CMOS/realtime" battery and a "Suspend mode/RAM backup" battery. I cannot find any battery on my system other than the large main NiMH one. I have downloaded a number of IBM Thinkpad service manuals to get more info, and the 365X is mentioned in none of them.

Question: If I simply replace the main NiMH battery, will my machine start keeping time again? If not, which of the other batteries do I need to replace and where are they located?

Update... my NiMH battery now will hold a bit of a charge, but my clock is still malfunctioning. The clock runs fine when on AC adapter, when on battery, or when in Hibernate mode (Fn + F4). But when the computer is completely off, next time I boot up, the clock shows the same time it was when I powered off... whether it was 5 min ago or 1 week ago. I assume this is due to a dead CMOS/realtime battery... ???

Any help appreciated! Even a link to the hardware maintance manual for the 365X would probably do the job (I have the manuals for the 350, 360, 370, 380, etc, but the 365 is not covered anywhere I can find...)

Maybe it's the CMOS battery ....

If you have a Net access when you boot it up, maybe a NTP synchronisation would do the trick for you ..

The cmos battery for the TP365x is not shown in the HMM though but its FRU P/N is listed as 46H4132.

I REALLY appreciate the link!!! With the manual to guide me, I'll feel confident enough to open it up and find the battery.

EDIT: Just looked thru the manual, and on pg 103, there it is! Turns out, it's just under the plastic insulation sheet on the right side of the machine. I kinda feel stupid... but the glue they used to hold the sheet in place must have hardened over the years... I tried removing it before, but gave up. This time, gave it a firm pull, and the battery is right there!

New battery is in, clock is working, and all is OK!!

BTW, this machine takes an ordinary 3v lithium 'coin' cell, size no. CR1220. I saw realtime/clock batteries for the 365X for "only" $27 ("regular price, $37") on one internet site that seems to specialize in IBM notebooks. I got my battery at Radio Shack... for $3.19...
