HI, Folks

Yesterday I posted a help asked for my 600X time slows down everyday; And I am suggested to replace its CMOS battery. The question is what kind of the CMOS battery is? Is there any manuals I can use for replacement? And if I take the battery away, is there any terrible thing will happen to my 600X?

thank you, and looking forward to your reply soon.

Hi, Folks

Is there somebody can help me this question? My 600x (4eu)'s time clock is slowing down everyday, usually 10 to 15 minutes slower everyday. The battery of 600x working fine, no idea which battery I should change, or some other parts I need to fix it.

Thank you, and sincerely yours,

Go to www.pc.ibm.com/support. Enter your machine type (2645-4EU or whatever). Select online publications. One will be your Hardware Maintenance Manual. It's a great tool for fixing your machine.

The problem with CMOS battery stock is that if you buy genuine IBM they will probably (correct me if I am wrong) be "New Old Stock" which translates into a 3 year old battery sealed in a new, never opened package. If you are good with your hands you can go get a duracell (or your favorite brand) cr2025 battery and attach the wires (don't solder) from your existing battery to it and you will be set. If not then look for an online retailer who makes up their own combinations using new batteries.
Googling for "ibm 600 cmos battery" should reveal some sources.
Good Luck.
