Does new inverter improve screen brightness?

I installed a new LCD panel (never used) into my 600X and was dissapointed with the less than bright screen. The image is fine but could the problem be the inverter since the screen is otherwise flawless? Would plugging in a new inverter help?

Possibly, but I believe inverters are designed to work with specific backlights. Is your "new" panel an identical model to your "old" one? If not, then the backlight may require a different voltage/current level than what the 600X inverter is geared for. Replacing it may not help. However, as the cost for a replacement inverter is generally less than $15, it may be worth it to give it a try. It's up to you.
From my experience, I have had an inverter which would not light one panel but did light another. When I tried another inverter on the panel that didn't light, it fired up without any problem. But there wasn't any problem with a dim light... it was all or nothing.
