Hello everybody,

at first, pleaso don't be afraid if you read my "english" text, I'm just a german pupil ;)

At the moment ich own a Thinkpad 600E which is a bit slow for me at the moment. So i thought, it might be useful to make a upgrade, for example to an PIII with ~600mhz..
But for this, I also need new RAM für the notebook.

Now my question is, how i can be sure that the ram will work in the 600E? How to identificate the memory which will work?

Thanks

Pixel

Willkommen to thinkpads.com!

Your 600E uses PC100, low-density memory modules. Those same modules can be used in several different Thinkpads, from a 600X (normally a maximum 650Mhz Pentium III) or A20-A22 or T20-T22 systems (up to 1Ghz CPUs).

Thank you very much :)

oke, that would mean i can only use modules with 16chips or a small capacity (if they have 8chips), wouldn't it?
Could a 8 chip 128mb RAM module (Apacer) work, or is ist already too big with its 16mb/chip ?

EDIT: Google is your friend - what a true sentence (if u disregard some other facts about google^^)
I would need a Memory, using "64Mx8", right?
