TV Out help
Anyone know how to adjust TV out so that windows screen fit TV without changing screen resolution to 640X480?
The only way i know is to set the screen to 640X480 to get close enuff to TV resolution of 352X240. With 640X480, it's off the screen a little, which is fine. But on the notebook, it's too huge.
I have i1400

Let me see if I understand what you want to do. I think you want to leave your machine set at, say, 1024x768 and have the TV display the same thing as the LCD panel?
AFAIK, that can't be done. The reason is that the TV has much worse resolution. I do know that on my 600X, I could set it for 640x480 or for 800x600, but with that higher setting a lot of information was lost.
I have seen other implementations where you can leave the LCD set to 1024x768 and the TV would display a portion of the screen, scrolling around to follow the mouse.
As an alternative, you should be able to turn off screen expansion, which would show a 640x480 desktop and use only 640x480 pixels of your display, leaving a large black border on all sides.

Ok, that's what I'd assumed but I thought someone else would have something up their sleeve.
I thought there might be away by cloning or something like with the external pc2tv adapter. You can have up to 1024x768 and it would convert it to TV resolution(352X240NTSC and 352X288PAL)
I'll try that disabling screen expansion if i can find when i get home.
Thanks for the info.

I'm not certain, but on many ThinkPads, you can press Fn+F8. Otherwise, use the ThinkPad Configuration software.
