IBM 7344-TW0

Hi everyone :)
I can't english well. So, Please understand my writting

May I introduce IBM 7344-TW0 to you.
This tablet is occupied japan's industry only, and similar part of IBM 7592 for USA use. But... IBM 7592 is very low specification.

Wrote korean But, You are understand IBM 7344 into the picture.

Very nice tablet, looks very rare and very usable. What OS are you using, is it Windows 98 or Windows 2000? It looks very cool!!!!

Looking at your collection of IBM hardware it seems that you like the unusual pieces, like to collect. You've found a home here! What are the specs of the machine, so that others can see what you have. I did find them but others might not have yet......

CPU : Pentium II 233Mhz 512KB, L2 2MB (Mini Cartridge Type) ==> 400Mhz 256KB upgrade 
Mainboard : 440BX chipset (Similar 560z mainboard )
Ram : Onboard 32MB ==> 288MB upgrade (Kingston PC66 128 * 2)
Video : 12.1" TFT TouchPanel (Gunze), Neo Magic 128 SVGA 16770K VRAM 2MB, 800*600 65536 color
HDD : 3.2GB ==> 40GB upgrade
FDD : Option
USB : x2
PC Card : CardBus/ZVport (Type3x1/2x2)
Sound : Crystal 4235 chipset (SB Pro)  
Size : W303 x D217 x H57
Weight :3kg

But, I bought IBM7344 on the japan yahoo in 2004'
It's registered only 3 items of sealed box, I was first winner about 70,000 Yen. :cry:

Are you TV3 coincide as blow simply spec?
7344-TV3 (P100MHz, VGA 10.4", Base 8M, HDD 1G/3G)

I think it is a coincedence. I bought the 7344-tv3. It is really cheap. You just post this after that auction so i think may be you are the winner. :)

i got a same 7344-TW0 last weekend, now trying install win2k on it.

maybe we can share experience further.

Hi salaam,

Congratulations!!

*Windows installation (2 Ways)
1. Use FDD (Thinkpad 560/600's similar FDD type)
If You have FDD, You can install of windows by Win2k or WinXP's Boot disk

2. Use HDD
At first, HDD separate from 7344.
And, All of copy Window of i386 folder file.
Bootting by Win98, and run "Setup" or "Winnt" in i386 folder.

yes DDinghoya,

actually, i know how to install system on a none-cd-driver notebook, due to my 240 series and s30 series. while ,could u please give me some advice to disassemble 7440, and, where is the location of HD and memory-sticks?

I'll update hardware device and disassembly for 7344 sometime...

You can buy Hdd of type 2.5". And, EDO ram search keyword "vnd" or "EDO 128MB" in japan yahoo.
