Lately I have been getting 0161 and 0163 error messages when I start my TP 600X. Means that I have to reset time and date, and restart the computer before I proceed. I know it has to do with the battery, and I have also tried to replace it. It seemed to help for some time, but I the error messages are there again. Not everytime I start the computer, but often enough to be quite annoying. Anything I can do?

Well, as I tried to explain, I have tried to install a new one, just a few weeks ago. But it seems possible that I didn't do it right

Take it out, and snap it back in place again..Maybe you didn't push the plug all the way in...

161 ans 163 are definitely CMOS battery errors. So if the battery is new and good try re-seating the plug...

I bought a bunch of 600 CMOS batteries on E-bay a few months ago. The leads were reversed in the plug(positive was negative & vice versa). It took me a while to figure it out, but after reversing the pins, all was good. Maybe you have the same issue? Where did you get your battery?
