Atheros AR5BMB-43 in a TP600x

#1 Post by conejo » Mon Feb 25, 2008 3:33 am

Hi everybody, I recently received a 600x as a gift and inmediatly installed a atheros AR5BMB-43 w/o antennas, and although I tried to get the right driver, had no luck so I installed it, used the "ADD NEW HARDWARE" wizard to look for the driver and did get it, but it is listed in the device manager as "802.11g Wireless Cardbus Adapter". So my question is: Should I leave it like that, or install the right driver? I haven't got any trouble as far as connectivity or speed so far, after readding all the horror stories on hardware upgrades I like to know the better way to work with this machine. Thanks to all.

Well, there is the old phrase: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". So, I would probably leave it as it is.

Now, if you aren't ok with leaving it as it is, I did a quick google search on the part number and found that this is a wireless card from the Toshiba Satellite series. So, I went to their website and found the driver for that part on a Satellite A60. Here it is.
