I have thinkpad 570 and gateway 2300. The two have 13'' lcd.
The gateways lcd is far far better then the 570.
Can i swap between them? Or they have differant fittings?

I would not reccomend swapping them. There are tons of companies that make the LCD's themselves and just about none share the same standards. The Gateway LCD could be compatible with your ThinkPad, but I would not recomend taking the risk or the time. If you want a better LCD for your ThinkPad, do an eBay search for parts for your specific ThinkPad model.
