Because of the formfactor and lack of industry standards in notebook computers, upgrading a notebook can be a pain in the [censored] every now and then. Your best bet is to add more RAM, have less applications loading at Windows startup, install a spyware scanner such as Ad Aware or SpySweeper and defrag your hard drive at least 2 times a month.
