Hi, i'm trying to use a PNY 1gb USB stick with my 240x but it gives me the above error. I've updated all the drivers and BIOS, could it be becuase it's a 2.0 device?

What's your operating system? If you are using Windows 98 Second Edition or newer, then you might need to download a driver for this device. If it's an older version of Windows, then you need to upgrade to a newer version because it can't even support USB.
BTW, USB2.0 devices are backward compatible with 1.1 ports.

Hi, It's running XP (Beautifully I might add) Just annoying as the USB is a good way to transfer data.
I wasn't aware it needed drivers? It doesn't on my T40 anyways! It looks just like a generic memory stick so what if there aren't drivers for it?

Any other USB device work?
I've got XP on mine and USB 2 drives (flash and mechanical) mount fine.
I do get a power surge error sometimes when attaching USB hard drives but they still work.
There are drivers available at the PNY website if you have not installed them.

make shure you install service pac 2, most of the usb thumb drives avalable today are usb-2, and origonal xp has real problems with
usb-2, as in NO SUPPORT!!, so install service pac1 (or 2) and try again.
good luck, adrian

hi, other usb drives work, and i have sp2... weird.
To get it to work I disable the usb controller then re-enable it in device manager.. that will do.
