xp instalation

#1 Post by larrussell9 » Sun Dec 05, 2004 7:50 am

I have a perfect running 600e with win98se on it, after loading winxp I have no sound. When you go to device manager it shows a problem with the codect audio with a yellow mark on it. If I uninstall that item, then let winxp look for hardware and reinstall it it works fine, perfect sound until I shut down. Then when I start it up again the sound is closed down, showing a code 10, I loaded the xp instalation supplement and tried it again, same thing, Once I uninstall xp the sound comes back . Can anybody help me. Thanks

You need to go to the IBM Support Site for your particular model (2yyy-nnn) and get the XP drivers for that machine. I can see on a number of models that sound and other hardware have different drivers for W98 and XP. ... JD Hurst
