Need Microsoft Pen Services for TP 360PE

#1 Post by Wotan42 » Mon Mar 17, 2008 9:20 pm

I have an old IBM Thinkpad 360PE that I'm trying to set up as a tablet for drawing using the included pen. However, the hard drive was corrupt when I got it, and had to be reformatted. IN the process, I lost all of the drivers. I've been trying to reassemble the original loadout since then, but I am unable to find the Pen services and driver for the screen.I have already used http://12.206.251.215/pccbbs/misc/ and http://home.icequake.net/~nemesis/linux ... stuff/360/, but the files I need are not there. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.

Specs:
Windows for Workgroups 3.11
DOS 6.22
Floppy Drive
540 MB Hard Drive
No network support as of yet.
It's a VAX!

I dug through that wiki, but I'm not sure if using the GRiD Pad driver would be enough. Everything I've seen so far has referred to MS Pen Services as being a necessary program.

Besides the driver, you need Windows for Pen Computing. IIRC, the machine came with Windows 3.1 and Windows for Pen Computing. The WfW 3.11 upgrade has badly needed networking components.

On my 750P, the pen driver works with Win95 as well, which is much nicer in every way. I don't remember how I got the Pen Services for Win95, but I think I downloaded it from MS. It ran fine with 20MB RAM. (It now has 36MB and Linux running on it, but the I haven't gotten X running on it, let alone the pen.)

SO... you could see if you can download that, and if so, buy a copy of Win95 (should be very cheap on eBay).

Well, I once tried 95, and it didn't work. I think I'll try to find the floppies for it again. Maybe it'll work. Also, I've had no luck finding a copy of Windows for Pen Computing. It seems to have disappeared.
