770ED DVD Playback problem...

Okay, I've been hassling with this thing for too long. I have a 770x (and my girlfriend's 770x) both with the deva card and they work great. My friend has a 770ED and I cannot make this think work right. The DEVA card is installed along with the drivers, exactly like my 770x yet it plays back DVDs without a video signal. You can hear the sound and even click on the selections if you know where they are at but it stays black. When it first starts you can see a little line of color along the bottom then it's black. I cannot figure out what's not working right. I swapped deva cards and it still won't work right.

Anyone run into this before and have a solution? It's running winxp pro with 288Mb of ram.

Hello...

What player do you use to watch DVD's.....I know with my old ED,using XP Pro,after installing the W2k Mpeg files for the DEVA,I just used Windows media player to watch DVD's...they were perfect...

When I first started out with it,I found if I loaded other apps before the mpeg files, the play would be jumpy, after doing a fresh install I always did the XP Supplement files first, then the Config Utility, then Battery Maximiser, then the mpeg files...then if you put a cheap DVD in that doesn't ask to install a player,a window will pop up asking what to play with, put a check in "Always do the selected action",highlight media player and click OK.....that will put a DVD Player icon in the Start>Entertainment folder....handy for when you put a good DVD in and it asks to install a player...just say no,then click the DVD Player icon

let me know how you make out....
