video out cable for 600E with Windows 2000

I'm thinking of trying to get my hands on a video out cable for my 600E.
I am living overseas, so I don't want to get a DVD player that I will just have to get rid of in a few months anyway.
Does anyone know if the video out business works with Windows 2000 these days? Last I heard it only worked with Windows 95/98.
