COM Ports on the 701

Hi,
One COM port (the address) is in use by the MWave and is a virtualized COM port for the virtualized modem if memory serves (the 701 Series uses an MWave for sound - and most of the Thinkpads that utilized the MWave around that time or later also used it for MPEG decoding, Modem and MIDI). As for the other COM port - it's real, but I'm not so sure it's simply a matter of pinouts (there may be some logic in the Port Replicator). I think I still have a Port Replicator that I'm not using and can check sometime after this coming weekend... if I come up with anything useful, I'll let you know.
Also, you might want to try to find IBM's Technical Service Manuals for the machine - they should include pinouts for every part of that machine - inside and out (as well as voltages, etc).
