hi,
this is my first time on this forum so thank you to anyone who helps, my problem is when i boot up using the power supply i get the error messages 161/192/163 then two beeps in that order, then i get an icon which looks like (a monitor with a floppy disk) next to it, when i press enter it goes to the errors again and no further. i know some of the errors relate to a dead battery but i have checked the cmos battery and it still checks out at 3v, also the main battery does not seem to charge the flashing orange indicator is on all the time. could it be my system board is not working correctly.........................thanks for any reply,s

Remove the main battery and try booting without it. See what happens then.
Leaving a dead main battery in may damage the charging circuit.

Do you get this error when you boot from the battery, too?

The picture of monitor and floppy indicates that the computer is not locating a bootable device. This could be due to one of two things:

1. The CMOS is not set to locate any device for boot. In this case, it reverts to the floppy. To check the CMOS, you must boot into Easy Setup by pressing (and holding) the F1 key while you turn on the computer. You should be able to find a boot order either in the Network or General settings.

2. The hard disk is missing or has a problem. You can test this by trying the hard disk in another laptop or in a desktop using an adapter. It could also be that the hard drive has become unplugged because the computer was dropped.

See if any of these help.
