Replacement battery TP600

#1 Post by pikaia » Fri Jun 06, 2008 11:11 pm

Hello.

I've got 3 TP600's (2-600E and 1-600X) I'm looking to get at least 1 replacement battery for the 600X, which I use on a daily basis, but am unsure where to buy, and what specifically to look for. I have one now that works, in the 600E it holds a charge for about 1.5 hours, but in the X I'm lucky to get 30mins out of it. I've read about the battery Mem problem in these batteries, and seen that getting 3rd party batteries is the way to go to avoid revisiting the same problem. But what should I look for when buying? Capacity 3200 or 3600 or 4400 mAh? Brand, model,price... site?

Has anyone had success at anywhere in particular or with a certain model?

I appreciate any feedback.

On a side note. How does the X20 models compare to the 600X? I know the specs on an X20 are a bit higher (My 600X has been upgraded to a 750mhz Nonspeedstep) But how is the overall feel and use compared to the 600. Thanks again.

I have both a 600X and an x20. I like both of them, but they are both different animals. The 600X is a powerhouse (albeit an aged powerhouse) and the X20 is meant to be light and portable. The 600X has a much better keyboard, and it can handle up to 576mb ram, and the X20 only goes up to 320mb ram. The X20 are also only PIII 600s. I love my wife's X20 because it is so light and we can pack it just about anywhere...

As for the battery issues, I haven't noticed a significant difference between my batteries in a 600E and a 600X. Yes, the 600X is going to use more power, but I have only noticed maybe a 15 minute difference. As for the rating...4400mAh is always better.
