Question for the 600e

#1 Post by grinder » Sat Dec 18, 2004 2:08 pm

I have been fixing a 600e for a friend and have a question.
The cd drive has been replaced with a dvd/cd rom...what is a good program to use with this so that she can play movies etc?

Yes, PowerDVD , use the lower version . Or you can use WINDVD,but very clear , it's not the best choice for your 600e.

I agree that version 4 is best for the 600E. Since it's old, if you look around you might be able to find a free version of it on the web. I got my copy when I bought a DVD burner a few years ago.

I know this is an old post, just looking through everything seeing what kind of problems/solutions I can find forthe 600E I'm sending to a student (since I'm sure to end up supporting it!).

Anyone have a copy of PowerDVD 4.x they will sell/trade me??

Do you have any friends who have bought a DVD burner or DVDrom recently? A lot of times this software comes for free with it.

Anyone know if a Sony CRX835E/11 will work in a 600 series? Buy.com has them for $59.39 with free shipping. States it's a Slim Combo drive. It doesn't show up on Sony's website -- search won't find anything. Apparently it's an older model and they only have current stuff on-line.
