What kind of external drives will work with a transnote

Older ThinkPads.. from the 600, the 7xx, the iSeries, 300, 500, the Transnote and, of course, the 701

What kind of external drives will work with a transnote

I tried to use my CF card with it and it wont boot up to that. So now needing to know what kind of external drives will work with it. Can anyone lead me in the right direction.

Did you try to boot from CF-card with an IDE<->CF-card-adapter instead of hdd? This will only work with the 'right' CF-card. A bootable PCMCIA-CF-card-adapter is not known.

You've to prepare your card - not all CF-cards are bootable. The BIOS must 'see' the CF-card as hdd. But my english is too bad, so I can't explain how to make a card bootable.
