600X battery not charging, error 190

#1 Post by joaomiguelxs » Tue Jul 22, 2008 1:25 pm

Hi,
I have two genuine IBM batteries FRU 12P4064. Both bought from eBay, they were sold as-is.

They really haven't been holding charges for longer than 5-10 minutes. Most of the time my TP is powered by the AC adapter, so I figured that wouldn't be an issue, but now I can't boot and pass post. It's a 190 error (a discharged battery).

I've tried a dozen times to charge the battery. The orange led blinks for a while and then it turns off. No green led.

Shouldn't the laptop boot regardless of the battery, if it's powered by the adapter?

If I have to buy batteries, can any one recommend a trusted seller in e Bay?

battery issue

Can you boot without the main battery? The main battery is the issue. Replace the battery from a reliable source and that should take care of the 190 error. I looked on lenovo website and the battery is the issue. If you can not boot without the main battery, I don't know what to tell you.
Just me two cents.
