i1200 system board upgrade

I just bought a new system board for my older i1200 (former 500MHz Celeron) to the 700MHz PIII. Only problem is that the LCD displays a funky image with the new system board - basically the screen shows up twice (top and bottom) even in the bios screen and has misc lines drawn through it. In the specs, the screen should work with both system boards and I did not change the LCD inverter board so I know it is not "wrong inverter board for the LCD probem". Any ideas on what I can do to fix the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First, make sure you have the wires connected firmly. Next, the new system board, is it from another i1200 or is it from an i1300? They use the same shape, but some i1300 computers came with 13" XGA screens and those boards will not work with a 12" screen, just as a system board from a 12" screen model won't work with a 13" screen.

Thanks for the quick reply

I think all the wires are connected correctly, I inserted the old board again and everything seems to work exactly as it did before. As to the board itself, I do not know if it formerly supported the 13" screen or the 12" screen (bought it off ebay with "working pull" as the only description) - are you sure the system board would drive this issue? I can see the video chip not wanting to put out at the correct resolution, but I thought the inverter/LCD combo determined what screens are supported - then again, it does not work so you very well could be right. I think my next purchase will have to be a i1300 LCD from ebay and see if that combination works. At this point, this is a hobby for me so I really don't care that I could buy the entire 700MHz system off ebay for under $400...
