Hi Guys

My first post for help in here !

I have used the forum lots of times in the past to find help with re-building 600's, and the help is EXCELLENT thanks.

This machine will run Win 98 not a problem, but if I stick a HDD in the machine with XP on it, it shows the XP logo, and then Blue Screens!

To get around the problem, I have put a 98 HDD in, then used a CD to upgrade it to XP, during the install it said that some of the Hardware would not run, but it loaded up, and took the XP upgrade. It also re-started and gave me the "Welcome" screen to XP

Cracked it, I thought !

Closed it down, and re-booted ...........

Blue screen !!

WHY ??

The BIOS has the upgrade, is there anything that this thing needs?

Thanks

Welcome aboard! Glad that this site has proven itself useful to you.

Lets first start with the specifics of this machine. Ram and CPU to start, as well as the full model/type number...

What BIOS version are you using, even though you say that it is updated?

What error message do you see in the BSOD?
