Sound problem in XP with 600E 2645-55U

#1 Post by n1nj4Lo » Mon Aug 18, 2008 6:39 pm

How do I get my sound working correctly for my 600E 2645-55U? It's running XP

I had sound working in Windows FLP(Fundamentals for Legacy PC's), Then I had to reformat from accidentally wiping out the whole hard drive trying to install ReActOS and now I'm stuck with no sound and can't remember for the life of me what I did before to get the sound working.. WinFLP is a Microsoft modified version of XP

[Mod edit: Split from Official Upgrade thread to keep that thread focused.]

I have experienced this problem off and on with various Thinkpads.Try loading the Windows 2000 audio driver from the Lenovo support site. If, for example, you had W98 or Windows 2000, and did a upgrade to XP, your sound would probably be fine. However, doing a full and clean install of XP, I have not had sound on either my 500E or 600X, until adding the w2k audio driver.
I hope this helps.
