The model on the left is the famous 701 series with the "buttefly" keyboard ... what is the model on the right? It has a butterfly keyboard too! Some please tell me what this is!

I googled for thinkpad 220 in google image search and it was there on the first page of results ... just might be photoshopped as suggested above ...

OK, then maybe we can find someone to translate this page:
http://www.kanshin.com/keyword/278453

Edit: I translated the page via Google, and it wasn't helpful...

EDIT 2: Here is the text...notice the highlighted part:
Google's Magic wrote:ThinkPad
This term is related to the content written by keywords (article).

The most powerful laptop (I think).

ThinkPad

Using your own laptop, most ThinkPad.

ThinkPad has been used so far is…….

(PalmTop 110)
ThinkPad 220
ThinkPad 230
ThinkPad 701
ThinkPad 535
ThinkPad 235
TransNote
ThinkPad s30
ThinkPad x30

Why is stupid…….

Among the most emotional attachment to the 701.

In a sense, his life might have changed.

The first one is, prices are falling, Windows 95 model I got from it, but then, when I used to buy it, and what have you or your units often do not know.

Come to think of it, 65 percent scale model "Mosquito" to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the ThinkPad and it was made (but not for sale, of course, have).

After a considerable HAMATTA 220, what am I also have cars.

Oh, and 220 laptop, EPOKKUMEIKINGU machines, followed by a large and influential say.
65% scale model?!?!? Mosquito?!?!?!

Going to babelfish isn't much help. Plug in the URL and use "Japanese to English"

So we are looking at "mosquito", a working 65% scale model of the 701C? :jhem:

seems to be true:

There is another reference to the "Mosquito", which appears to be smaller than the "Butterfly":

Here you go:

http://journal.mycom.co.jp/news/2002/10/16/15.html

A 65% mini-scale non-working model of the 701c. As you can see by the below pics, the writer of the article shows you how the model is assembled.

It was a promotional item to commemorate Thinkpad's 10th anniversary back in Oct. 2002, and to coincide w/ the first release of the 701 back in Oct. 1992. The event was held at the "Tokyo Big Site", an awesome venue by the way, and of course is no longer available!

The best part about it was the promo sheet that came w/ it (a must read):

Hope this helps.

[Later: I see I'm just repeating what emoticonartist says directly above.] My impression is that the Mosquito is is a scale model not a working model. Maybe everyone else is aware of this, but I thought I should clarify just in case.

Check out the English text explanation of the Mosquito "specs" in the photo that appears on the page Ray [correction: emoticonartist] found:
http://journal.mycom.co.jp/news/2002/10/16/15zlll.jpg

I can't get the promo sheet link to work because it wants a referer from itmedia, but maybe that is the same photo??

Joe, I'm also getting a referrer error on the Yahoo translation link you posted. It looks like the referrer error is in the URL itself?
