Hello everyone...

First post here. I'm a big fan of the legacy Thinkpads so it looks like I'll feel right at home (I have two 600Es)

Recently I picked up two 570e off of Craigslist. They are 2644-6BUs with a W2k COA. I would like to get a copy of the W2k Recovery disks if anyone has them.

If no one has Recovery CDs I do have a retail W2K CD around my house somewhere, but I'm of the understanding that this won't work. So, I would need an 'OEM' copy of W2k, correct?

I'm not sure why you say that only an OEM CD would do. A retail CD gives you the most options. No reason why you can't give it a try.

I thought I read on another thread that the product key that is on the COAs on the Thinkpads will not work with a retail CD.

It may not. There were retail and OEM versions of Win2k. Each using types of different product key numbers.

So then how would one obtain a copy of an IBM OEM W2k cd?

Thanks!
