.. And I see the label says:
"DEMO 2675-63U"
It's missing the HDD and the pen, but it will POST and go into the BIOS no problem.
DEMO??
Never saw that on a thinkpad before...
Joe
Just checked Lenovo... 63U isn't listed...hmmmmm.....

Congrats, you've got yourself a rare bird. I've been through quite a few of "demos" and that's exactly what they are-prototypes and test units. T43 in my signature is one such unit.
The variety begins where there are some pretty standard models with a "demo" tag (the aforementioned T43) and these are usually fairly un-interesting pieces with "test" planars, CPUs, "not to be sold" tags... On this variety you can update the BIOS with no issues etc.
The other side of the coin are custom-built, one-offs for executives or "never to leave the lab" examples and these can be tricky to maintain. Your TransNote fits in this category. I've owned a pre-production X60T with a model number that meant nothing, and no date (but it had a serial). Another forum member owns a X61T from the very same batch. Mr. Morrow has a S30 (or S31) with a similar story...
The only thing that I'm going to say apart from "enjoy and I envy you" will be to be VERY careful if you ever choose to update BIOS...personally, I'd stay with the present one unless it gives you tremendous grief...
Good luck.

I hear you loud and clear on the BIOS updating.
Not having the HDD or OS, I'm installing a spare 30GB and XP on it just to play a bit.
I need to get my hands on the HDD caddy and cover, a pen, a new outer cover... Umm DANG! I'm falling it serious like with it already!
Seriously, it's got 192MB RAM, and the leather case has taken quite a beating, but the insides look cherry. The battery took a charge too.

I'm using it right now, and wonder if anyone has tried SP3 on it. I made two attemps, both failed. Must be an incompatability there.
This is the first computer I have not been able to install SP3 on.
