how to reseat the keyboard cables for a 600

my trackpoint is malfunctiong,the cursor drifts to the top of the screen now.I read a manual I found for the 600 and it tells me to try reseating the keyboard cables.Any ideas?I have tried to access the Hex editor and found it but cannot find an 02 in the third row,first column(this is via the EZsetup and the congif menu)
