Is a 7k2 Hitachi disk "wasted" in a 570E ?

As above - what does the panel think ?

Got a 60GB Hitachi 7200 disk in my T20 .... I've now decided to sell the T20, but I'm not parting with that disk (which is a real honey).

My 570E is replacing the T20 as a companion to the T41 ... (the size/weight of the battery-less 570E is a major consideration as I'm going overseas for a while) - but I'm not sure if the 570E will take good advantage of the performance of the 7200 disk ... (probably just ATA-3 or 4 or thereabouts) .... OTOH I guess 570E and T20 are both BX chipset ....

Any opinions/comments ?

TIA :-)

T20 and 560e run (afaik) at the same 30mb/s EIDE/PCI-bus speed.

True. Well I put the Hitachi 7200 disk in the 570E - works like a charm, and does indeed make it feel it feel a good deal snappier.

This 570E should be a happy bunny now - maxed out memory at 320MB and a high-performance disk. I have a notion that the disk gets a bit hotter in the 570E than in the T20 (doesn't have the same thermal contact between caddy and chassis) - but still OK - doesn't go over mid 30s C. Lovely and quiet too.

I really like the form-factor, the screen, and the size/weight (no battery) of this machine - should be just the job for my scenario.
The power switch is a bit irritating, but otherwise its a nice little machine.
