Seeking advise on 600X LCD problems

#1 Post by mgw » Thu Nov 06, 2008 2:34 pm

The LCD went dark. Putting light on it with a Maglite shows that the matrix is working correctly, so apparently a backlight issue. I replaced the inverter and I'm awaiting a new display cable to be delivered within the next couple o'days.

What's odd ist that the screen is enlighted upon boot and goes dark after 2 sec. Previously, moving the screen back and forth fixed the backlight issue... sounds more like a wiring issue to me.

Any thoughts highly appreciated.

Cheers Michael

I would agree that if movement changed the backlight operation, then LCD cabling is suspect. If you replace the cable and the problem persists, then you're looking at a backlight replacement or LCD assembly replacement job.

Please take a look to the lid switch too (if you don't have configurate the sleep function).
