How to install new Update Connector software

I have an old TP I series that had Win98 installed. I installed XP pro. Then attempted to install the IBM update connector that is on the old Win98 utility CD. The Win 98 version refuses to install on the now XP TP. Any attemp to install a new version of the Update Connector fails as the setup will only install onto a system that already has a version of the update connector present.

A bit of a chicken and egg situation,

Does anyone know how I can get the latest version of the update connector to install?
