Wanted: Electronic geek help--600X

Okay, I'm certifiably nuts. I'm wedded to the 600X with a bond that doesn't quit. Read my other posts, please.
Since I have one with a dead motherboard, and one with a not so dead LCD and video adapter, I'd like to find someone who will put the two together, test out the resulting one, and establish a long term repair relationship with me.
I'm in the Mississippi Delta, and we don't seem to have any geek clubs, electronic tech training, or repair shops within 60 or 70 miles. If I go to Memphis, the place that I tried wants to send machines away to "factory depots", whatever they are--and I'm looking at way more than $200 for the experience. I can buy a "refurbished" one on ebay for less than that, and would probably get the same warranty--which is thirty days, if I'm lucky.
Any suggestions? Anyone know of electronics clubs in the Memphis area?
