TP 240X Keyboard swap question

#1 Post by emeu1 » Tue Nov 11, 2008 4:25 pm

Hello,

can I simply swap the keyboard (German layout) of my 240X for one with a US keyboard? With simply I do not mean if it is technically easy but is the US keyboard automatically recognized as a US keyboard. Not hat I change the keyboard for a US one and still get "French" characters.

Second question: again for the 240X, I find two different part no. for the US layout keyboard:

02K6302 (found browsing the internet)
02K5330 (according to Lenovo website)

Do both fit or only the 02K5330?

Kind regards,

Erik

The first FRU is for 240 machines, the second one for 240X.

I've owned dozens of these but never swapped keyboards between the two. Personally, I believe either should work.

Let's see what the current 240 series gurus have to add...
...Knowledge is a deadly friend when no one sets the rules...(King Crimson)
