600x speaker grill removal

Howdy all,

I don't remember how it looked from the inside of the palm bezel last time I had the laptop apart, but now I want to remove the two speaker bezels to clean them.

I tried to gently pry them off with knife, but it seems they're secured from underneath, as they won't "give" at moderate prying force. I don't want to proceed and break them if this isn't how I'm supposed to remove them. I thought they were just glued in.

Please advise!

Thanks

Thanks Harryc. I just wanted to know if I could just pry them off and re-glue them, but I'll take off the top bezel/keyboard and do it from underneath.

For anyone who sees this thread needing to clean their speakers..

Good thing I didn't pry too hard, the speaker grills are mounted from underneath. That would have just busted up the bezel and grills.

The keyboard/palm rest bezel must be removed to access the speakers/grills from beneath. The hardware manual at the link Harryc provided above shows this simple procedure on pages 44-46.

I've also instituted new rule: Nobody eats at the computer anymore. That's aimed at my kidz but also shoots me right in the foot!
