dvd express crashes

#1 Post by jkc » Thu Jan 13, 2005 4:00 pm

I have downloaded the old copy of dvd express at thinkpads.com and updated it at the ibm site. My problem is I cannot get it to run. It crashes everytime with invalid page fault in module allnode.dll at 0167:6310d33. I have tried to use windvd and powerdvd but they also will not run. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Which TP, which OS, upgraded to which version?

Which ThinkPad, which OS, upgraded to which version?

There are at least two different upgrade versions for DVD Express available through the IBM site: some are more compatible with certain ThinkPads than others I think.

I had no end of troubles getting Mediamatics DVD Express to install correctly on my old ThinkPad 770ED running Windows 98SE. And I was using a CD.

I think the allnode.dll error has something to do with the region settings - maybe you are using a region-free drive that the program doesn't like, or maybe the hardware region settings don't match some other setting that the program installed by default.

Thanks for the response. It is a thinkpad 600e running win98se. When I try to run dvdexpress the first thing it does is ask me for the region and I put in one. It then tries to the load the movie and it crashes in module allnode.dll. I used several updates one posted in these forums and one of the ibm site. They both crash at the same point. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
