Wireless suddenly goes down with no clues

TP-LINK TL-WN321G V 2.0 USB

Signal strength on TP 600 (W98SE) "normal" but Mozilla cannot find server.

Signal strength on TP600x (Mandriva) ''strong" but etc.

This suddenly occured when I booted up yesterday. As far as I know, I did nothing to the system. It appears to be on both machines so I guess it is not the machine. The USB gizmo LED's blink encouragingly but nothing happens. Sitting right alongside the router does not help.

It almost sounds as if the system suddenly changed frequencies to one that I can't detect. Where do I start looking first?

linux. What I do is try:

"iwconfig" for interface: if nothing usually driver problem
"ifconfig <interface> up"
"iwlist <interface> scan"
"iwconfig <interface> mode...\ channel... \ essid <ssid> \
key... \ key open"
"dhclient interface"

let us know how you get on

Well, shucks, it went down on Sunday, and when I booted up early Tuesday, both laptops ran like watches for some time and then the Linux went off line again.

I just moved into a condo. I am beginning to think that somebody here is on my frequency and in a sense is jamming it when he goes on line.

That a possibility?

And my Mandriva program claims "iwconfig" is an "unknown command. "
