Dropping Linux support for the 570 on 2.6.29, please read

Hello people, your friendly Linux kernel maintainer for the ThinkPad drivers, posting here....
Recently, code that exists only for model 570 on the thinkpad-acpi driver started causing problems for all (or nearly all) other ThinkPads.
My policy for model support is that I will take the pains required to keep everything working for a certain ThinkPad model that is causing problems if, and only if, I have enough resources to do so.
By resources, I mean up-to-date data for that model, up-to-date DMI data on thinkwiki.org for that model, and contact information for at least one user that would be willing to test development versions of the driver should I ask for his help.
I don't have such resources for the venerable model 570, so unless someone show up (please email me directly at "ibm-acpi at hmh dot eng dot br") support for the model 570 will be dropped for the Linux kernel 2.6.29 onwards.
Sorry about this.
