MMC-2 700Mhz SpeedStep Mod

The pictures provided by Kihwal Lee on his site:http://kihwal.fayoly.net/600e/sstep_old.jpg
show the 2.2Khm resistor soldered onto condenser C14. Should the resistor be soldered to C13 instead?
The 700MMC-2 i am working on seems different than any picture i have linked to that shows the mod.
I have added a 2.2Khm resister to a 600mmc2 but it was different.
Katch had a site called "Mod the Pad" but it is dead, and so are alot of the links on the Wim's Bios site:
IBM Thinkpad 600E bios mod for processor update.
If someone had a link to a picture of the mod that would be great.
Here is a link to photos of my CPU:

Mod the Pad can still be found here:

Thanks hjanzen, On the Mod the Pad link it is figure 3A that has me confused.
When i compare that picture to an earlier one.

Figure 3A shows 6 chips as opposed to 7.

Please have a look at this page (47) in Wim's BIOS

http://www.wimsbios.com/phpBB2/topic4046-690.html

Here you find a picture of a chip layout similar to yours and Sharedoc's instruction how to solder the resistor.
Please note that I never did this mod myself.

Speedstep mod confusion

Thanks again Hans (hjanzen),
After looking at the pictures in the link and then reading the instructions from Sharedoc, i am even more confused (if that is possible!). Here is his quote:
"See the lowest picture. To do SpeedStep mod, please solder 2.2kohm resistor between left end of R1 and + end of the big black capasitor on the left. Then install DeepSleep utility and it should go 650."
This quote and the picture in the link seem to me to describe the mod incorrectly. (Unless the picture was rotated 180 degrees.)
Also, the person in this post who asked the question (Pokemon) had problems after doing the mod as described... I have a number of these CPUs to solder so i would like to get it right.

'Unless the picture was rotated 180 degrees'

Yes that is obvious.

Maybe you can send 'pokemon' a PM asking for his experience and advice.

Hans.
