nlite XP on 600e / 600x

#1 Post by cure » Sat Jan 17, 2009 3:24 pm

I finally got around to playing with nlite (which strips down XP) and put XPpro SP2 on a 600X with 312 mb. It is surprisingly quick (perhaps quicker than 98me) and I am sure that XP could be stripped down further.

In precisely that vien, has anyone put together a minimal install, by which I mean precisely the necessary drivers (and nothing extra), precisely the services necessary for interent, usb and bluetooth connectivity (and again no more)? I am too unfamiliar with nlite and XP to do much more than tinker at this point but would like to get a rigourously lean install set up.

Thanx.

PS Any help on stripping Office XP or Office 2003 down would be appreciated too.

I used that once, you should be able to remove as much as you want with it.

Stripping MSOffice sounds a bit difficult but you could remove all documentation and clip art from it to make it smaller, other then that I have no clue what would be possible.
